21 Days of Fasting - 2025 - Day 2
Day 2: Surrendering Your Will to God
Scripture:
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.’” – Matthew 16:24 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Surrender is at the heart of our walk with God. It’s about letting go of our own plans, desires, and control, and trusting that God’s plan is better. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves and take up our cross, a powerful reminder that following Him requires a daily decision to lay down our will for His.
True surrender isn’t just about giving up something we value; it’s about gaining something far greater—an intimate relationship with God and the fulfillment of His purpose in our lives. Today, reflect on the areas of your life where you may still be holding on tightly. Is it your career, relationships, or even fear of the unknown? Trust that God sees the bigger picture and has a plan that will prosper you and bring glory to His name.
As you fast today, take time to pray and ask God to reveal areas where He’s asking for your surrender. It’s in letting go that you make room for Him to move powerfully in your life.
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, I come before You with a heart willing to surrender. Show me the areas where I’ve held on too tightly to my own will. Help me to trust You completely, knowing that Your plans are perfect. Teach me to take up my cross daily and follow You with faith and obedience. Amen.
Action Step:
Write down one area of your life you feel God is calling you to surrender. Spend five minutes in prayer, releasing it to Him. Throughout the day, remind yourself that His plans are better, and choose to trust Him.
