21 Days of Fasting - 2025 - Day 21

Daily Devotional: Rejoicing in God’s Goodness and Faithfulness

Scripture:  “For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” – Psalm 100:5 (NKJV)

Expository Explanation: This verse is a beautiful declaration of God’s unchanging character. It reminds us that God is good, not just in what He does but in who He is. His mercy is everlasting, meaning His love and compassion never run out, no matter how many times we fall short. His truth (faithfulness) endures to all generations, assuring us that He remains steadfast and trustworthy from the past to the present and into the future.

The psalmist calls us to rejoice in these truths, recognizing that God’s goodness is not based on circumstances but on His nature. No matter what we face, we can rest in the assurance that God’s character never changes.

Devotional Thought:  Life often presents challenges that make it difficult to rejoice. Circumstances change, people disappoint, and hardships come, but God’s goodness and faithfulness remain constant.

Rejoicing in the Lord is not about ignoring difficulties but about choosing to focus on who God is rather than what we feel. When we meditate on His goodness, we cultivate gratitude. When we remember His faithfulness, we strengthen our trust in Him.

Take a moment today to reflect on God’s goodness in your life. Has He provided for you? Has He sustained you in trials? His goodness surrounds us in ways we sometimes overlook. No matter where you are in life, there is always a reason to rejoice in Him!

Reflection Questions:
1.How have you experienced God’s goodness and faithfulness in your life?
2.What are some specific ways you can rejoice in the Lord daily?
3.How can focusing on God’s faithfulness help you in difficult times?

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your unwavering goodness and faithfulness. No matter what I face, help me to rejoice in who You are. Open my eyes to see Your blessings all around me and remind me of Your everlasting mercy. Teach me to trust in Your truth and to walk in gratitude every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Step:  Make a list of three ways you have seen God’s goodness and faithfulness in your life. Spend time praising Him for these things, and share one with someone else today as a testimony of His faithfulness.
