21 Days of Fasting - 2025 - Day 10

Daily Devotional: Trusting God When He Speaks

Scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Expository Explanation:
Proverbs 3:5-6 is a powerful reminder of the importance of trusting God completely, even when we don’t fully understand His ways. Trusting in the Lord means surrendering our limited understanding and allowing His wisdom to guide our decisions. When we acknowledge Him in every aspect of our lives, He promises to direct our steps and lead us on the right path. This passage encourages us to replace self-reliance with God-reliance.

Devotional Reading:
When God speaks, it often challenges our natural instincts. He may call us to step out in faith, take an unexpected path, or wait patiently when we’d rather move forward. Trusting God when He speaks requires us to let go of fear and uncertainty and lean into His promises.

Sometimes, His voice calls us to make difficult decisions, to forgive when it’s hard, or to pursue opportunities that seem beyond our capabilities. In these moments, we must remember that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His plans are always for our good. Trusting Him means believing that He sees the bigger picture and has our best interests at heart—even when we can’t see the outcome.

Are you willing to trust God when He speaks, even when it doesn’t make sense? Think of a situation in your life where you sense God speaking to you. Ask yourself if you are fully trusting Him with it or holding onto your own plans. Surrender it to Him in prayer today.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to trust You when You speak into my life. Give me the courage to let go of my own understanding and lean fully on Your wisdom. Guide my steps and reassure me of Your perfect plan. Amen.

Challenge for Today:
Take one step of faith today in response to something you believe God is leading you to do—whether it’s reaching out to someone, making a decision, or simply trusting Him with an unresolved situation.
